St Paul’s UCC of Monee 2011 Cemetery Board Report
A new Cemetery Board was elected which included John Ireland-President, Mary Brockmiller-Secretary and Christi Holston-Treasurer.  Darren Deutsche agreed to remain involved as a consultant and bring the Board up to speed on the practices and procedures of cemetery maintenance, record keeping and proper protocol when a death occurs.  Darren has been instrumental in keeping the cemetery running smoothly for years and continues to take care of daily oversight.  Rachel White is serving as a consultant as well.  She is going through the written cemetery records and clearing up any discrepancies in the files.  She is also clarifying the records of burial plot locations as well as adding details to the historical files of those interred at St Paul’s.
After taking bids it was decided to employ Prize Lawn Care service for the season.  The cemetery lawn is routinely mowed and their work has proved satisfactory.
A cemetery clean up day was held in May.  Thanks to all who helped in the clean-up.
In late July, damage was sustained to over 15 head stones.  A police report was filed, but the culprits have not been caught.  The damage was confined to displacement of stones and markers being toppled over.  Thank you to John Ireland, Darren Deutsche and Keith Heldt who repaired the stones at no cost to the Cemetery Board.
Financially, the balance sheet continues to be in the black.  It was decided to move all bank accounts from First Midwest Bank to Chase so that all accounts are consolidated, including a CD which was cashed in and deposited into the investment account.  Thanks to everyone who gave donations this year.   The financial statements are below.
Respectfully submitted,
John Ireland, President
